Terms of Service

AfterShift is provided by Alive and Thrive Trust Pty Ltd (ABN 32 684 676 440), an Australian company. By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any part of AfterShift you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use AfterShift.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the app and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use AfterShift after an update means you accept the new terms.

AfterShift is a self-guided sleep support tool for shift workers. It is not a medical device, not a clinical service, and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Nothing in it — including plans, tips, audio, AI conversations, or any other content — constitutes medical, psychological, or clinical advice, and it cannot diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

AfterShift is intended for people aged 16 and over. By using the app you confirm you meet this age requirement. If you are under 16, please do not create an account or use AfterShift.

You sign in with a passwordless link sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping your email address secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know immediately if you think your account has been accessed by someone else: aliveandthrive@protonmail.com.

You may only hold one account. We may suspend or close accounts that are shared or used in ways that breach these terms.

• The price is always shown at the point of purchase, before you pay.
• Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or yearly, whichever you chose) until you cancel.
• Cancel any time via Settings → Manage subscription (Stripe billing portal), or through the relevant app store if you subscribed there. You keep paid access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in USD unless stated otherwise at checkout. We don't store your card details — Stripe handles all payment security.
• Refunds are handled case-by-case. If something went wrong, email us and we'll sort it out. Nothing in these terms limits your non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

You agree not to:

• share your account or resell access to AfterShift;
• copy, scrape, or redistribute the audio library or any app content;
• probe, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break the service or other users' data;
• use the AI check-in to generate harmful, unlawful, or misleading content;
• use AfterShift in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, without notice where necessary.

Your journal entries, check-ins, and messages are yours. You give us only the limited licence needed to store and display them back to you and to operate the service — nothing more. Deleting your account erases them permanently.

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that the plans and tips will produce specific sleep or health outcomes.
• To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to re-supplying the affected service or refunding what you paid for the affected period — whichever is reasonable in the circumstances.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of AfterShift.
• Nothing in these terms excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by contract.

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of AfterShift at any time. Where practical, we'll give you reasonable notice of significant changes. You may stop using AfterShift and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
